How to Start Parking in Tartu
1. Start parking with an app

2. Start parking with the SMS
SMS parking is available only for local phone numbers.
Send an SMS to the short number 1902 in the following format: vehicle number, space, parking zone identifier (e.g., 123ABC A/B/C). If you want the fee calculation to start 15 minutes (for A and C zones) or 90 minutes (for B zone) later, you need to add 15 or 90 at the end of the SMS. To stop, call 1903. Information hotline 1910, for Elisa customers call 660 0600 (calls cannot be made to the short number from a landline). The mobile parking service fee is €0.32.
NB! Mobile parking is terminated after four hours of charging. A notification about the end of mobile parking will be sent, and continuing mobile parking must be confirmed. Please review the limits, reminder intervals, etc., set in the application.
3. Start parking at the parking machine.
You can pay at parking machines with 10-, 20-, and 50-cent coins, as well as one- and two-euro coins, and cards.

The parking machine automatically adds the free parking time ticket’s end time. It’s not necessary to place the parking ticket on the vehicle’s dashboard because the parking machine activates mobile parking for the vehicle. By entering the corresponding amount, you can purchase mobile parking from the machine for, for example, one hour or 30 days.
Purchasing of long-term parking permits
Paid area parking permits can be purchased from the Town Hall Information Center (Tartu Town Hall, 1st floor, tel 1789, infokeskus@tartu.ee).
Long-term parking permits can also be obtained through the parking.ee portal. After paying the parking fee in online banking, be sure to press “Back to the Merchant,” otherwise, the payment of the parking fee cannot be verified.
